Petri Dish

So Paige has been recovering from HFMD and although the spots are going away her skin is still peeling and falling off where the sores were. She doesn't seem to be bothered by it at all and has been her regular funny, sweet self.

Although two days ago she came home from child minding with my wife and as usual she fell asleep on the ride home. What was unusual is that she kept sleeping once she got home. We laid her on the couch while we got supper ready and she continued to sleep. We finally had to wake her up in order for her to eat and it was a battle. She was very tired and didn't eat much. She stayed up until 8:30pm (about 60-90 mins longer than usual) and then promptly wanted to go back to bed. She slept through the night, only waking up once.

Yesterday the same thing happened. We noticed she barely ate during the day and we had to wake her up from the couch after 7pm. She could barely keep her eyes open so my wife asked her if she wanted a bottle and to go right to bed. Her response was 'uh huh'. So she was changed into a new diaper and pajamas and promptly put to bed.

Fast-forward to 1:30am and my wife and I both hear a 'cough' from her room. Sure enough she had thrown up in her crib. I changed the sheets and wiped down the crib while my wife ran her through the tub. She was smiling and happy in the water and didn't show any signs of being sick. No fever, no complaining. Nothing.

After her tub she grabbed my hand and although I tried to convince her it was bedtime still she took me downstairs. She sat on the couch with me and I read her a few books until around 2am when my wife got her another bottle and we coaxed her back upstairs to bed.

I see 2:30am on the clock.

I see 3am on the clock.

I begin to wonder if I'm going to fall back asleep or not.

I then see 6am on the clock.

Ok, so I must have gotten 3 more hours of sleep.

Thankfully after sweeping the 7 inches of snow off the truck (and the wife's Jeep) I managed to get into town and stop at Tim's. Roll Up The Rim or not, I needed a coffee.

Probably two today.

Raising Paige is still a blessing.
